A flashing SES light is usually a misfire code - P0300 or so - make sure you didn't crack any plugs and all the plug wires are on all the way - (especially the one on the passanger side rear - they are usually left loose)

I don't know where the plugs are in my towncar. 4.6 2001. I have a miss in the motor . I have not had it tuned up as they say you can go 100.000 . I have 93,000. Or should I take it to the shop?

No where does it say you can go 100,000 miles on any product

Spark Plugs ---get changed at 60,000 miles & not over 3 years
O2 Sensor--- the front ones only-- get changed at 100,000 miles
Trans & Power Steering Fluids --- get changed on ALL Vehicles
every 30,000 miles NEVER over 3 years ( ever )
Brake Fluid --ALL Vehicles every 2 years

No such thing as a tune- up (spark plugs --only)
Computers have done the tuning since 1980 some 32
model years

Plugs are under the COP Ignition Coils
Remove Coils,then Plugs

What parts do I need for a tine up on a 2003 Nissan Altima?

  • Plugs - every two years for the single fire plugs up to 90,000 miles for the split fires etc.
  • Wires - every two years on up depending on quality of wires.
  • fuel filter - every 15,000 miles or so.
  • air filter - as needed but every 10,000 miles or so.
  • antifreeze flush - 30,000 miles for green, 75,000 for organic (Dex-Cool style)
  • transmission fluid flush - every 40,000 miles.
  • transmission gasket and filter change - every 100,000 miles.
  • timing belt - every 100,000 miles.
  • Rotate the tires every 6,000 miles or so.

I have a 89 Chevy Suburban 2500HD 2wd, with a 350cid TBI, TH400 3spd trans. Everything is new or rebuilt (major overhaul six months ago) it has started displaying a check engine light after 2 miles or once...

Intermitten problem, as vehicle is running the computer is continuely recording, while the error is happening the code is registered. After the problem is not happening the computer records new information and does not maintain the old. Fix, find a road long enough to get the error code and safe enough to shut off vehicle exactly at the time of the engine light goes off. Place a jumper wire in the A/B ports of the onboard access connectors under side of dashboard under steering columns. This will be a electrical plug in with ten ports, top to left ports are the ones to run a jumper across. Turn on ignition switch do not start, the check engine light will flash. First it will flash once pause flash twice, this is the function code that lets you know the system is working. This will repeat 3 times, watch the code after that. Will work in same way first digit of code will flash and then pause second flash count is second digit of code.

Looking into buying a used 2003 honda odyssey with just over 100,000 miles. what maintence is required? i heard timing belt should be replaced. is this true and how much am i looking at?

For a 2003 used Honda odyssey, the following should be required:-

1. Replace the timing belt. (repair estimates at www.repairpal.com)
2. Drain the whole oil out of the engine and transmission
3. Replace the brake pads
4. Most of all run a diagnosis scan on the vehicle to detect any other possible maintenance that will be required.

Good luck and a good buy.

Take care.

What is the recommended service for 2004 chevy

Service your cooling system every 5 years or 150,000 miles. The GM Dex Cool has a life of 5 years or 150,000 miles which ever comes first. Replace the thermostat also and buy the fail safe thermostat, it cost a bit more but worth it.

Service the engine (spark plugs and wire) every 100,000 miles or till engine management prompt attention. (service engine light DTC code)

Service the transmission every 3 years or 60,000 miles, replace the transmission oil and filter. Transfer case fluid and differential fluid.

Service the engine oil and filter every 6 months or 3,000 miles. Lube Chassis

Service the air filter and cabin air filter, wiper blades every 15,000 miles or once a year.

Misfire and check engine light-flashes 12 times

There is a dead cylinder, so its not getting a spark at one spark plug. Check it at Autozone for free, that will tell you where the trouble is.

Should it be that expensive $600.00-$900.00 for the 100,000 miles maintence for my 2004 Saturn Vue

I work at a dodge chrysler jeep dealer, so I honestly don't know that you have a honda engine inside of a saturn vehicle, but I do know that dealerships are expensive. The belt itself isn't that expensive, but the labor is. A dealership would empty an ordinary person's bank account if they bough all the reccommended services. Transmission services or flushes would be helpful if you havent had one in a while, the timing belt is definitely needed, because if it breaks from old age, you could possibly damage your engine. I'm sure you keep your oil changed already. Spark plugs would be beneficial, maybe plug wires if you have them for your model. Maybe a regular fan belt and belt tensioner too, if you havent had that replaced yet. If He's offering the labor and parts all for 600, I would possibly consider that offer
