Look for a bleeder screw at the highest point of the coolant system, it is usually located on the thermostat housing. Once located open screw with engine off and cool, and pour coolant into the coolant resevoir/ radiator until steady stream of coolant starts to come out of bleeder screw.

Testimonial: "Good info. There are 2 bleeders. They are located on the coolant hoses. The best way to bleed them is fill up then blled after running 15 minutes."

2001 monte carlo ls 3.4 overheats!! replaced everything

You have to bleed the air out of the system. There are 1 maybe 2 bleeders on the front of the engine on the cooling system bypass pipe one near the upper hose the the othe on the drivers side of the pipe. They are brass with a small bleeder valve in the middle. Get the car up to temperature and take your time to allow all the air out. Refill cooling system after it cools. Hope you didn't do any damage running it hot.

Is there only top motor mounts that need to be removed in order to change a radiator in a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo Ls

There is a bunch of stuff that you must remove to get the radiator out.

You must remove:
> Engine strut mounts
> Throttle body air inlet duct and air cleaner assembly
> The front fender upper diagonal braces
> Engine cooling fan and shroud assembly
> Transmission cooler lines
> Radiator upper brackets
> Radiator low coolant module
> Upper radiator (inlet) hose
> Lower radiator (outlet) hose

Then the radiator will come up and out.

Flush radiator on 1999 monte carlo had to put new radiator, hoses, thermostat filled up radiator, flushed again, coolent light flashes on and off or sometimes it doesnt come on at all, coolent level is...

You have to bleed the coolant system. There are some bleeder screws, with hex heads on them.Hold the bottom nut and gently loosen the top until water and air flow, with the system not running. When the air is not present, tighten back down gently. If the air won`t bleed out, then fill the coolant reservoir over the full mark about 3/4 way full.Make sure radiator is full, and start engine with ac off.Let it run befor it bubbles or gets too hot, turn engine off,and let it set for about 35 to 45 minutes.Check coolant reservoir to see if the coolant level has dropped. It should have dropped,if so repeat until the reservoir stops loosing fluid. The fans should come on,and go off by them selves. When this happens, then the cooling system is perfect. This I hope helps, please let me know the [email protected]
