Hi AMY,Sounds like your clutch slave cylinder may be bad,check your clutch fluid in the master cylinder under the hood,if real low or empty,then the seal in the slave cylinder is bad and no holding pressure,easy to fix.here's a link to replace,it's located on the side of transmission with a hydraulic line connected to it,plus after installing you will have to bleed,I use a bleeder kit that Autozone sells for about 8.49 and it uses brake fluid,yes break fluid,the same as your brake reservoir has in it. An accredited shop that knows what they are doing would be able to exchange a steering rack with out altering the wheel alignment. However having said that I would suggest that you have a wheel alignment done anyway as the alignment can be out before they did the job. Remember that it is the job of salesman to sell tyres so the recommendation to rotate tyres all the time hides the fact that you need an alignment and you have to buy 4 tyres at a time instead of 1 or done properly 2. By not rotating tyres then when a tyre shows abnormal wear it becomes noticeable as balance, alignrnent, tyre case problem, over/under inflation and you can take appropriate action to correct it.

Sure they can. That is not a mandated safety feature such as air bags or seat belts. They have no legal requirement to make sure a tire repair kit is included with the vehicle. You will have to buy one yourself, ask them nicely to get you one for free, or take you chances on not having a flat.
