Car broke down due to fan belt and no tensioner bolt. Is the tensioner connected to the alternator

Yes the belt runs over the alternator, A/C etc. This page shows how it works, and the tensioner needs to keep tension on the belt to drive the pulleys including the alternator.

Chevy tracker power steering belt change

I don't know model year? Is the radiator fan electric or belt driven? If electric look for electrical connector. Your water pump has to be driven by something. If fan is belt driven, some makes and models, that same belt drives the water pump.

Replace a fan belt on 1999 AU Falcon

replacing fan belts is easy except for some model have a vry little room to work on... to replace belt, 1st look for the tension pulley, its an indipendent pulley that its only purpose it to stretch the belt. at the back of that pulley you'll see a bolt loosen it then lose also the tension bolt located near at that area too... once youve done that it would be easy for you to remove and replace the belt... hope that helps..

Need a fan belt changing diagram for an 86 olds cutless supreme

mcdevito75 here, I don:"t think there is a fan belt changeing diagram for your 86" you can order the new belts and mark them Water pump, alternator, power steering. as you order them. The power steering pump is the most difficult to loosen and tighten, you"ll also need a crowbar to hold the various units tight after you install the new belts as the belts can"t be too lose nor too tight. Best bet let your local shop change the belts they last a good while and you have the piece of mind all is adjusted correct.
