I had this problem on my 2003 9-5 linear wagon. There are several fuses that could be blown. There are 3 fuses in the panel near the driver door that relate to the radio. Check them. There is also one on the back of the radio (5 A). I had problems after I jumped my car. I had two blown fuses. One in the side panel near the door and also the one on the back of the radio. When I replaced them, problem solved. Need DIN keys, or 4 small screwdrivers or allen wrenches in the 4 holes on the front of the radio to remove the radio. Difficult to do. Don't give up. Use a large screwdriver to pry radio out of panel gently once the pins are in the holes.

Another possibility is the radio is not seated properly in the power plug. I took my SAAB 95 radio out to remove the SID but when I put the radio back in there was no power, checked fuses etc - Then I noticed the female plug on the back of the radio housing was not seated and fixed properly - so when I pushed the radio back in it just pushed the female plug back and wasn't connected. There are latches on one side of the female connector, a clip on the other, make sure it doesn't budge before you push in the radio.

My 1997 saab radio doesn't work after i change the battery

Radio on the Saab need a code of 4 numbers to put back on the radio. The moment you take out the cables of battery the radio is out. Is a security things on the Saab. When you bought the car should have a card and keep the card in the safe place don't loose.
That how you put the radio on.

Need radio code for a 1998 saab 900

The codes are not for the Saab but for the radio.
You need to take the radio to a dealer of that brand of radio. There is not just one brand that can be installed by Saab. a Saab dealer can help, but none of us can, because each radio has its own code. But a dealer has the tools to reset it.

1993 SAAB CSE LOCKED STEREO

If this stereo is a clarion and original equipment and uses a a four digit code. First thing you do is with the power on to the radio, push and hold the band button for a few seconds until you see the word "code" on the radio display. Input the code and radio should work. If that doesn't work, then if you have tried to input a wrong code several times then radio will lock out. So what you need to do is
the radio has to be on for one hour uninterrupted, then you can do the band button procedure , code input again and hopefully the radio goes on. Hopefully this helps. Please advise results

1999 Saab 900 radio reset code

whenever the battery is removed (or car experiences any loss of power) you must type in security code for  radio (this is the case with BMWs and Volvos as well).  Go to any saab dealership and they can remove the radio and get your radio's 4 digit code, they all have one.  Yes, I have done this before ` they didn't charge me and I was in and out in ten minutes.
