My van dings all the time when under 20 mph and the light stay on for 15 min. after car is off. The door ajar light is on but all doors are shut. Is this an electrical problem? Is there a way to shut off interior lights by pulling a fuse? The car will ding anytime the key is in the ignition.

One of the door/van loading door switches has failed it thinks a door is open so the the interior light stays on and the door open warning will ding the interior light should have a switch to disable it or take out the bulb but you cant stop the dinging until you find the faulty latch switch and fix it

SOURCE: annoying alarm dinging until van reaches 17mph

This means one of the door ajar sensors is stuck. You need to remove the door trim panel and then the latch and then the sensor. Once out clean and lube it. There is a sensor inside every door.

DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX A FEW PROBLEMS

When my "door ajar" light was on it was because the liftgate sensors (switches) indicated that the gate was open, even thought it wasn't. I took off the plastic trim, and took out the sensors - but that isn't necessary. Just soak with the switches with silicone spray, and see if that helps. There is one on each side of the liftgate - I believe both must indicate "closed" for the light to go off.

I have gotten replacement motors at Checkers for both driver and passenger doors - so now I have lifetime replacement motors.. The first time you replace them, a little drilling is needed on the door sheet metal, but it will not show up once the trim is reinstalled. This repair is a little involved, but well within the capability of a novice mechanic.
