I have a code p1762 for my 97 jeep grand cherokee

Trouble code P1762 means: Governor pressure sensor offset improper voltage. Gov. Pressure Sensor. It is located in the valve body of the transmission and requires dropping the transmission pan to replace. Sounds much more difficult than it is. Since you have to change your fluid it's a good idea to change the trans. filter .

Diagnostics "P1762 Manufac. Contrl. Transmission"

Had the same code on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Started having shifting problems as well. Code is for governor pressure sensor on trans. Cost me about $800 for dealer to fix. No problems after part changed out.

I have a ODB II code reader giving p1763, p1762, p0303

Your right about the two codes. It's really a transmission part.
As soon as you open up the transmission pan, it right there.
f0d99d5.jpg But, I would leave this up to a transmission place. It may need a special type of calibration tool for the new sensor.

As for PO303, that is a missfire in cylinder #3

I hope I answered your question.

Grand Cherokee laredo P1763 and P1762

It's a transmission related problem, that you should have looked at a.s.a.p. to avoid costly transmission repairs down the road. Have it scanned at a reputable transmission repair place, dealer, or mechanic you trust. The drain pan will have to come off to perform repair, so have a transmission service (filter & fluid) done while your at it, unless it was done recently.

Check engien lihgt with code p1762

CEL Code P1762 is Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Improper Voltage. Make sure all your wires going to the sensor are ok, then if they are I would look into a new Sensor. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC
