S10 2.2 5 spd 2wd...electrical problem

S10 2.2 5 spd 2wd... I was sitting at the light and my truck died... wouldn't start. I had no power to gauges or headlights, flashers and stereo worked. the daytime running lights didnt work, so i tried to turn the headlights on with the switch, there was a loud buzz from fuse box under the hood. when i turn on ignition there is no power to anything, but stereo. doesnt crank over, speedo shows 100 mph. no dash lights, no power to fuel pump... no gauges read anything except voltmeter reads 12v. i have power from the ignition switch. Sorry for the choppy post... Im a bit irritated with this truck.
I was thinking it was ignition switch or bad ground somewhere... Help please!

Sounds like ur computer. When a computer goes out they seem to go in different ways. Also there should be main circuit relays either under the hood or on driver side dash. If you pop a main relay it will kill all main circuits to protect a circuit melt down. Hope this helps. Thanks Josh

Have you checked all of the fuses to see if they have power ?
There should be a 20amp fuse for gauges that comes to mind.

I have a 2008HD GMC Sierra 4WD Diesel - I need power for my new pillar gauges. Which fuse in the cab fuse box will supply keyed accessory power and no power during ignition/cranking?

depending on what brand and style of gauges you use, you might want power with the key in the start position. I have Autometer electric gagues in my Ford diesel and the power is "on" anytime the key is on or in the start position. If you don't need power during the cranking cycle, then I would probably use the radio fuse.

In march tuck wouldn't start mechanic replaced alternator truck ran good, battery light stayed on had test done at O'reillies Last week drove to Port Aurthur & on the way back gauges stopped...

You need to get a digtal voltage meter (about $15) and check it out yourself-readings at the battery should be 12.5 volts after sitting overnight. Once you start it, the readings at the battery terminals should go up to almost 15 volts when first started, then gradually drop down to around 14.2 volts-I would bet either your battery is bad, or your battery is bad and your alternator has failed trying to supply power to a bad battery-either way, your mechanic should not have allowed the battery light to stay on after changing out the alternator without finding out what was wrong-he did not fix it.

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited edition 4.7 liter V8 2wd. Recently it has just died whilst driving on the highway 40mph city driving. It just died quickly and all the gauges went dead like...

The first thing I would check is to make sure battery is securely tied down, cables are connected, and in good shape. Sounds basic but it has caused this problem for many of us.

Car overheated and antifreze was boiling and spewing over until engine cooled. 2004 jeep liberty 2wd. Thanks!

Need to know what caused the overheating, possible broken serpentine belt, thermostat, water pump, radiator, fan clutch, cooling fan motor. After motor has cooled down fill radiator with water till full, look make sure serpentine belt not broke, start engine run about 5 minutes, turn off, let sit 3 minutes, start engine look at temperture gauge is it over half way of gauge, Do you have a fan blade driven by water pump or electric fans?

Cqr drives then gauges go haywire then dies sits for a time starts drives for a while the gauges go haywire then dies

It sounds like an intermittent alternator/voltage regulator problem. I would suggest testing the alternator.
