2002 dodge grand caravan sport only clicks when i try to start it. battery fully charged
Hit the starter with a hamer if it starts then the starter is rooted
The solenoid on the starter is the issue. IF you take the solenoid apart you will find a brass disk, this disk moves when you turn the key and actuate the solenoid. the plate then touches the contact to the starter and the contact from the battery. This plate gets pitted and thus no more contact. Likely is the big bare braided copper wire that goes from the starter to the solenoid is at fault. You can pay 20. for a new solenoid or $120+ for a reconditioned starter.
Keep in mind that a corroded battery terminal will cause 80 percent loss of cranking power. Try wiggling the small wire on the starter gently as someone is trying to start it prior to replacing anything!
Hi I think you might have a bad starter. You can take a hammer and hit it, it might start
