It means you have a problem with the electronic throttle control an with Stability control which is part of the electronic brake control module ,which means there are DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in the ( EBCM ) & in the PCM -powertrain control module . You should take to a ASE certified repair facility or the dealer !

If you disassemble the instrument cluster to disable the light, an open circuit is created and the powertrain control module is put into a "limp in" or "service" mode. You maximum engine rpm is reduced. You maximum vehicle speed is reduced to 50 mph and several other systems are disabled (like stability control and traction control). You're better off just having it diagnosed and repaired properly.

I had the same problem in my Yukon Denali And after 4 throttle body's, replacing gas pedal, rewiring the grounds replacing sensors, took it to not one but two GMC dealerships who were useless they can't fix their own trucks they're not the brightest !!!! After thousands of dollars I found a mechanic very familiar with this issue you want the solution it will cost ya 500$ for me to tell ya!! Just kidding I know how frustrating this problem is okay here is the fix the problem is these electric throttle bodies are GARBAGE!!!!!!! Don't matter what u do or what u replace it will come back on unless u convert your electric throttle body to the old cable throttle the actual fix was 900$ but I spent thousands and thousands trying to fix it!!! Please save your money and tell ur mechanic u want to convert to the old cable throttle!!! Gmc is well aware of the problem but won't fix it for u cuz they're useless

Your PCM has found a problem in the operation of the truck. You will need to have It checked to see what code is stored in the memory of the computer. The truck is reducing power and turning all the warning lights on to let you know there is a problem that needs serious attention. It reduces power to stop from damaging the engine. Continuing to drive the truck could result is a major problem.

when ever there is a problem , have the fault codes read first
it is free at autozone and other parts shops
then knowing what the problem is you can have it fixed at an accredited service center for less money that fixing what is not faulty costs

check the gas pedal if it doesnt have a cable it tends to go out it is a drive by wire system g.m. vehicles have a common problem

The problem may be located at the connector on the throttle body. The terminals can be loose, broken wires inside the the plastic where you cant see them, and corroded grounds.

If you can get the check engine light to shut off, try wiggling the wiring from the connector on the throttle body from the connector out to at least 4 inches to induce a check engine light. Clean and tighten the grounds on the engine block also.

take out your engine

disconnect ground battery cable for 10 minutes( this resets the ECM ) then try to start the vehicle.
