I have 1998 sierra 1500 vortec 5.0 liters, when engine is cold (below 35 degre f )engine turn but don t start,i have fire, fuel pump run and i have pressure on my main fuel line juste before injector pack but dont inject fuel,if i plug block heater engine can start when is warm, and last time i start engine is missing and smell gasoline at exhaust pipe and very low power and i run the truck for 1 mile and the catalaser come overheat(red),i have two code when engine running(p1345 and other is missfiring )i change crank sensor ,plug, wiring, distributor cap and rotor, and my problem stay here.

Camshaft To Crankshaft Position Correlation Fault is what p1345 means. if the problem isnt electrical I would imagine the timing chain could be stretched and the engine is out of time somehow
just thinking about it a little more the truck may need to have the ignition module replaced part #MPE TP58SB $131 from napa. good luckjust thinking about it a little more the truck may need to have the ignition module replaced part #MPE TP58SB $131 from napa. good luck

I would start by checking fuel pressure via the schrader valve on the fuel line (near the rear of the intake manifold). The vortec engines needed considerably higher fuel pressure than most to start cold, and it is quite common for a weak fuel pump to cause a cold only no start condition with that engine. You should see around 50-60 psi with the key on / engine off for about 3 seconds. Also, if the pressure drops very quickly after a few seconds, the fuel pressure regulator could be to blame.
If you are at or near the 100,000 mile mark then your fuel pump may have failed. If you remove the fuel filler cap and listen carefully at the filler neck while someone turns the ignition key to "run" [don't actually crank the engine] you should be able to hear the fuel pump buzz for about a second and a half as the key is turned On. If you don't hear the pump buzz then odds are your pump is dead. Your pump may have actually failed making it appear as though you ran out of fuel. Not to uncommon. Hope this helps and good luck!
02 sierra 1500 5.3 starts very quick when cold but when hot cranks a lot before starting,I replaced fuel pump and filter did not help.It has 55 psi fuel pressure but falls below 40 kinda fast.???
I would have a close look at the fuel pump. These are one of the weaker links in the vehicle.Key On -Engine off will run this intank electric pump for 3 seconds. This gives you an opportunity to listen for the pump and how it sounds overall(in a quiet place ,like a closed garage)...Sometimes a failing pump sounds a bit squeelish and loud, somewhat labored.A good working ,fresh pump sounds very smooth and quiet.Fuel pressure diagnostics might be in order as these pumps seem to work about like they sound....good luck
had this problem on my neighbors 98 chevy truck with the same engine !!
it turnd out too be the fuel pressure regulator, you have too pull the upper intake too replace it!!
replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump
Possibly faulty ignition module is the problem, stalls when engine is hot when you sit for a while it cools off and runs again until it heats up again, those are usually the symptoms of a bad ignition module and after a while it may give out all together and not run at all, usually if the module is at fault it shuts down the fuel pump so the engine don't load up with fuel, do to when engine continuously cranks over the injectors never stop squirting fuel and flood the engine do to lack of spark which is produced by the module, this could possibly be your problem.
