Gas gauge goes pass the full mark when

You could use two resistors, Two different ohms specs for full and empty. Place resistor between proper wire colors in diagram. Turn on the key, If gage reacts properly to full and empty resistors, then I think the problem is the sending unit in gas tank. If not, the problem could be almost anywhere, wiring circuit--pcm--instrument cluster. I did see trouble codes relating to fuel gage sending unit. I hesitate to get into that? good luck

Could be a short in the wiring, or a power problem.
You could unplug the harness at the tank to find out if it is a sending unit problem, but the truck won't run with the harness unplugged.

There is no easy fix.
Either the gauge on the dash is faulty, or the sending unit in the tank.
The sending unit uses a float which may be getting stuck at the 3/4 mark.

Sounds like it could be an instrument cluster fuse or a possible ground issue. fuse would be easier. Did you have anything added recently such as a stereo or remote car start system?

it is normal for the temp gauge to show a little over the normal mark in heavy traffic as long as it is not going into red its okay

fuel level sensor it will eventually set a check eng light. the unit is on top of the fuel pump assembly it is a little black sensor that can be changed by itself or if u wish a new pump assembly will fix it also.

Do the doors unlock when you shut the key off? Also unhook the purple wire to the sending unit in the tank, Gauge should read empty. Ground the purple wire, it should read past full. If it works this way, replace the sending unit in the tank.

Sounds like you have a bare or broken wire earthing out on the chassis/body Trace the wires from the tank back to the engine bay and check that the wires are intact.
