Describe your bmw 318 how to deactivate security

Check previous response - how long have you had the car, and why did you put a new battery in.
There is a chance the computer has been set up registering a standard, non heavy duty battery and it is deactivated stop/start at the main computer.
I believe you may need a dealer to reprogram the system.
However I have heard that your car will take upto 8 driving hours to register the new battery itself and read its levels.
Sounds bizzarre, these cars are getting too smart

if its the stock radio, the security alarm runs through it, mine did same till i pulled the stock one and put a aftermarket radio in.

the anti theft device is in the engine manidgement system so a bit arquward to de active ,

check the security system if it is engaged, check the battery wiring, check the ecu with a scan tool to check for crank pos sensor operation.

remove the gear shift panel and with super gleu secure the gear indicatop in the correect position

There is a computer under the glove compartment that controls the locking system in your car that also works with the alarm system in your car and if that computer is not working properly that is the reason why. If that computer registers that the car was not open properly that it will deactivate the starter

hi, the two clamps that secure the radiator have a small slot on the top, if you insert a small screwdriver into the slot and use it as a pry bar you should be able to unclip the holding clamp and it then releases like a hinge.

the key you describe is for illuminating the locks and has no function for remote locking. You will need an aftermarket keyless entry kit to have remote locking. steve
