The plastic ignition actator (plastic gear drive) has lost the steel pin pressed on the end of it. This thing connects the mechanical key ignition switch to the electrical ignition switch(with pin gone will push ignition on BUT with pin gone cannot PULL ign. switch to off position),the whole steering column will have to be removed from truck to replace.Availible from Ford or parts stores--ASK for plastic ignition actuator-metal one is for 1987 to 1991 F150s.

My 2005 F150 Won t start. When you turn the ignition switch fuse # 102 the ignition switch feed blows. Can anyone help me on what could be overloading or shorting the wiring?

I have a 2005 f150 fx4 have replaced battery every winter because when it gets cold the truck won't start, It is not the battery because dash lights, door chimes all work but truck won't even crank (dead). Ford insist that it is the battery.

How do I change ignition switch on a 1994 ford f150

Using the correct ignition key, put the key in the ignition switch and turn to the accessory or on position. look under the switch on the underside of the column and you will see a small hole. Use a small poke tool like an awe or a big stout paperclip and push the pin. you will feel it move when you poke it. pull the ignition switch out with key still in it. The switch has to be turned in order to get it out smoothly without damage. Please leave feedback to let other know if this helps your situation. I know this will as I replace ford switches daily. Thanks

Key will turn to start in my 1994 K1500

This solution more than likely will require internal steering column inspection.First make sure the entire steering column is not loose. If you can move the steering wheel w/column from side to side or up and down more than 1/2 inch it's loose.Sometimes the key will engage while wiggling the steering column. There are 3 torx bolts deep inside the column that need tightening.Second, the Ignition key cylinder may be bad and need replacing
