Hi i,ve got a 56 reg ford galaxy theres a problem with a drain on the battery the only thing i,ve noticed is a message on the dash board computer saying alarm service required had everything checked and don,t know where to go from here

you blew up the fuses, and they prevented a nasty expensive fire
the big fuses.

Plug in under the dash d/s

i am not an expert but it sounds to me like you either have a ground problem or you have a hot wire that is grounding out some where i would start under the dash first

Had this problem with my '99 F250. What a pain. Its water getting in the dash but my auto shop couldn't find where either. Ended up with a cracked windsheild that was replaced and problem solves. The seal on the windsheild is bad but you cant see it.

We do not have this make in the USA so have no info on it.

check rear brake shoes or pads

you have connected the wires to the wrong cables ,either buy a proper fitting kit or run your own wires direct .

Have your alternator and voltage regulator checked. I once had a galaxie 500 that did the same thing - turned out the alternator was bad and the regulator drained the battery overnight. I changed out both and problem solved - hope you have the same luck!!!

Hi it sounds like the dimmer switch has had it, remove the dimmer and connect the 2 wires from it together if the dash lights stay on then thats the issue.

I dont think the rear window is related, most likely the motor in the door has gone or the mechainsim is to tight you will need to remove the door trim to inspcet it, can you still here the motor? if so then the fault is mechanical and not electrical.
