Dear friend-if the speedometer is not and it is a dail type then remove the cable from the speed sensor.let somebody look at the dail take the cable in your hand and the inner piece between your fingers, spin that inner between your fingers oneway and if it is not working spin it in the other direction,if it wotks then the speed sensor is at fault,if not it could be the dail itself, the illumination lights on the radio is dead.

My speedometer wont work and my mileage light is off now, but my rpm meter works..do i need a new fuse or is it electrical?

You might check for a bad speed sensor or check the wiring from the sensor to the speedometer

Rear lights aren't working in my 1996 saturn SL1.Not bulb problem

Check fuses next, best done with a meter or a test light. You have a panel to the right of the center console in the front where the passengers left foot is, There is also one under the hood by the left headlight area. Remember that fuses for lights are only powered with the light switch on.

AFTER LIGHTNING STRUCK NEAR MY CAR THE SPEEDOMETER ,RPM GAUGE AND THE DAYLIGHT INDICATOR ON MY PANEL DOES NOT WORK. WHAT'S WRONG? MY SATURN IS AN SL1 SERIES 1996 .

SOUND LIKE LIGHTNING SHORT OUT THE INSRUMENT GAUGES.CHECK GAUGES FUSE.IF ALL IS GOOD.YOUR DASH CLUSTER OR GAUGE PROBABLY DAMAGE BY LIGHTINING.NEED TO BE REPLACE.TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP.LET THEM CHECK IT OUT FIRST.BECAUSE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS NOT CHEAP.

2001 Saturn SL1 instrument panel stopped working....

erique000, on Feb 06, 2009 you posted a comment about your odometer and gas gauge stopped working. Did you ever find the problem. I have a 2001 sl1 and the same thing occured but also the rpm gauge and the speedometer registered nothing. They all just sit at e or 0. Approx 20 miles later the car died. It will still turn over, but won't start. If you have a chance, please respond to [email protected]
Thanks, Tom.
