First, brake pad life depends on your driving style. Drive hard, brake a lot and the pads won't last a long time. Second, the material of the pads can affect life too.
It wouldn't hurt to ask the dealership about the service bulletin on your car. If you are a DIY person, you could take it apart and inspect the pads/rotors and scuff them up a bit. I've fixed some minor annoying issues by doing that. Sometimes your pads can get glazed over, and I've had weird little bumps on my rotors that made a horrible grinding noise when coming to a stop. Used my grinder and cleaned/sanded the surface and it hasn't come back in 2 yrs.

Front or rear? Have they been replaced recently? Just a shot in the dark with what little information you've provided. If they haven't been serviced recently...The front pads are equipped with a small metal tab (sensor) as the pads become worn, the sensor comes into contact with the front rotor indicating they need replacing. If they have been serviced, the pads may be moving around slightly. There is a product called stop sequel that is applied to the back of the pads to stop this. If it's the rear shoes, then they probably need replacing as the rivets may be contacting the drums. Or, a spring or clip may have dislodged and should be looked at. I hope I've helped. #1-Front end squeek is coming from a bushing in the front end suspension....could be the rubber on your struts/schocks, balljoint, or tie rod bushings. Have to jack the car front end and start from one side to the other...a little bit of a pain to pin point.

#2-The fan selector switch is bad....which means the control panel has to be replaced.

#3-Brakes....couple of things.....brake pads may have been installed incorrectly...not seated correctly in the caliper....

Have you hit anything recently or run over a parking block or run over a curb???

The brake pads need to be replaced asap. The squeal comes from a wire imbedded into the pad so that when you start hearing it, it indicates pad are worn out. New pad will bring the pedal bac up to its normal position. The back brakes are probably OK, but they should be checked as well for wear and leaks.

try coating the back of the brake pad with copperslip grease....anti squeek grease...

try a different brand of pads. Civics aren't the best at pads lasting a long time. you need to go with a semi-metallic pad such as the O'Reilley auto parts "BrakeBest" brand.

on disc brakes there is a metal marker on them that when the pads get low on material it will make a squeeling noise to let you know its time to change the pads.. so I would say you are in need of front pads also even though they look good you are getting low.. this marker is designed to let you know its time before you get to metal to metal .. jerry

Have your brakes checked. It seems like your brake pads are extremely low.

do you have 17'' rims or bigger if so thats your problem and did you buy cheap pads when you replaced them recently
