You have a 4L60Eautomatic transmission or a 4L65E.Call the dealership and give them your vehicle identification number and they will tell you what transmission you have.Talk to the parts department.

Your transmission on your Suburban is a 4L60E, just make sure it's a 4L60E for the years of 1998 to present. 1997 was the change year and the transmission was sectioned in to a three piece housing where the older 4L60E was a one piece housing and the older housing had a 4 bolt end on the tail housing as to the newer ones have a 5 bolt, the internals are the same through out the years.
