You have a 4L60Eautomatic transmission or a 4L65E.Call the dealership and give them your vehicle identification number and they will tell you what transmission you have.Talk to the parts department.

Your transmission on your Suburban is a 4L60E, just make sure it's a 4L60E for the years of 1998 to present. 1997 was the change year and the transmission was sectioned in to a three piece housing where the older 4L60E was a one piece housing and the older housing had a 4 bolt end on the tail housing as to the newer ones have a 5 bolt, the internals are the same through out the years. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL SLT 1500 5.3L 4x4 that lost all forward gears need to know if a 2003 Chevy suburban 1500 5.3L 4x4 transmission will interchange thanks

before you waste time and effort have the fault codes read
could be a simple torque converter clutch servo / solenoid or TCM problem or may be a simple 100% transmission oil change if it hasn't been done in the last 60K miles

I have a 1999 1500 2wd Chevy Suburban and my transmission went out. Will a 1992 1500 2wd Chevy Suburban transmission fit?

A salvage yard should have the interchange books to tell you for sure. You'll need the model of each one, like 4L80 or 4L60.

Flywheel on 1997 Chevy Suburban 1500 broken

I would say about $200-400. It involves disconnecting the transmission and torque converter bolts to the flywheel (3 bolts) and moving the transmission back far enough to remove the flywheel.
