In most cases the antenna plug directly into the back of the radio. But GM came up with this crazy 3 piece stereo system. You have the display/selector, the tape deck/EQ, and the tuner. The antenna will be pluged into the tuner which is buried deep into the dash above the acceleator slightly to the right. I have installed close to 100 stereos and this threw me for a loop. Follow the tape deck/eq wiring harness to find it. Happy hunting.

My aftermarket cd player shuts off when I turn my parking lights on. Chevy pickup 1990 k1500 series

It is grounded to the illumination wire. You need to pull out the radio disconnect the black wire that is coming out of the radio from the adapter plug and bolt it to a good ground.

Best buy installed radio & speakers bad reception told by installer factory wired wrong true or false can i get new harness & instructions where & price

Best Buy has a pretty good reputation for installing aftermarket radios and they generally use a new harness connected to the old harness to make it work right.

I would try to have the reception issue fixed by Best Buy before the warranty runs out.

How long ago did you have it worked on?

I'm sure they will make it right if you take it back.

Even, if it requires changing out the radio.

Have them check that the antenna is properly connected to the back of the radio.
