Have them reset cvi's. (clutch volume indexes) need a scan tool to complete. if they changed the filter need to make sure filter and gasket are properly seated in the valve body.

The 6 speed automatic changes hard. What may be the problem

You may have it in "Sport" mode if one os available. Check your manual to determine if that could be the issue. If your transmission fluid is old and ready for a change, or your vehicle is low on fluid, that can affect how the vehicle shifts. The type and brand of fluid cvan alo affect shifting. If the fluid was changed recently, was the correct fluid installed? Not all fluids are equal and simply because the container says automatic transmission fluid does not mean it is compatible with yo9ur transmission. Another issue I have seen is people topping off their fluid with an unauthorized type, causing problems. Best to have a shop check it out before bigger problems develop.

2003 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA automatic gasoline engine. shifts hard sometimes.

YOUR TRANSMISSION SOUND LIKE LOW IN TRANSMISSION FLUID. YOU HAVE A FACTORY SEAL TRANSMISSION IF SLIPPING SHIFTING HARD TRANSMISSION COULD HAVE FLUID LEAK. YOUR TRANSMISSION DONT HAVE OIL FILLER TUBE AND DIP STICK.THE VOLKSWAGON DEALERSHIP HAS TO USE EQUIPMENT TO ADD FLUID THROUGH TRANSMISSION FILLER PLUG ON UPPER SIDE TRANSMISSION PAN. IF TRANSMISSION FLUID HAS NEVER BEEN CHANGED LET DEALERSHIP CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER AND TRY TO LOCATE LEAK IF FLUID WAS LOW. ALSO MAKE SURE ENGINE FINE TUNED AND TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE ADJUSTMENT IS CORRECT.

Automatic transmission not shifting correctly revs way up before shifting 2003 yukon 1500

I would recommend checking the fluid level and scanning your Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for fault codes. The syptoms you are describing can be caused by low fluid, low fluid pressure, worn-out clutches, malfunctioning shift control solenoids, or even a defective ignition switch not supplying the correct voltage to the transmission. Retrieving fault codes can help you tremendously in knowing which system is causing your problem and start you into the correct troubleshooting sequence.

I believe the FIRST and EASIEST thing that should be checked is the transmission fluid level. If it is low, you need to find out where it is leaking from.

Shifting problem when starting off from a start

Hi, the problem may be simple. Try to check the automatic transmission fluid and filter for it may be burned and needs fluid change. A smooth run will be noticeable after doing this.

Won't shift!!

I had the same problem and found that it was an electronic shift switch with frayed wires. I thought the transmission was going bad, but after replacing that switch (externally mounted on the transmission) it works fine. Much cheaper than a transmission. I probably could have saved more by finding the part aftermarket on-line.
