The 2002-2006 Camry received the next generation 2.4L 4-cylinder engine (model 2AZ-FE), which combines decent power with excellent fuel economy. This engine does not have a timing belt, it has a chain that does not need to be replaced.
The second choice is very smooth and powerful 3.0-liter 24-valve all-aluminum V6 engine.
Starting from 2004, the 3.3-liter V6 DOHC VVT-i engine is available on SE V6 model.
Both, the 3.0L and 3.3L V6 engines have a timing belt that must be replaced at certain interval

Testimonial: "Succinct and to the point! I won't be worrying about replacing a belt that isn't there!"

We are looking to buy a 2003 Mazda 6 S I was wondering if this engine a V6 has a timing belt or chain thanks Mike

Reading Topic: Timing Chain?? Both the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder use timing chains. These chains are pretty much service free and should last the life of the vehicle. Borrowed from http://forum.mazda6club.com/mazda6-atenza/121169-timing-chain.html

Just make sure the timing belt is on properlyy, lining up the cam and crank in proper position to each other. The engine willstart when fully assembled because the electrical has not be altered. If it has a crank position sensor , be sure to put it back on after cleaning it and the connector.

Belt or Chain

Yes those vehicles have timing belts instead of chains. I have yet to see a timing belt that doesnt need to be changed at some point. Maybe the tech meant you didnt need to change them now. Each manufacturer has their own mileage interval, but generally speaking, anywhere between 60,000 and 90,000 miles they are due to be replaced.

Timing belt 2005 4 cylinder camry

Hello, A 2005 Camry with a 2.4 4 cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN not belt. I don't think that there is a routine maintenance schedule for this. If there is no audible noise coming from the chain area, you probably have nothing to worry about.
I hope this helps
