Need engine diagram for 96 mazda 626 manuel trans.. trying to figure out if i have a hydraulic clutch. lost clutch pedal all fo a sudden and trying to identify the problem.

It will have all the diagrams and anything else you could need for your car.

Beth, having looked under thousands of hoods in my life I have never seen a non-hydraulic clutch in a Japanese car, not to say that they can't be out there somewhere. Bearing in mind that the clutch pedal is to the left of the brake pedal as you sit in the car, under the hood look just to the right of where the brake master cylinder juts out. Should be something that looks very much like the master cylinder, but much smaller. The hydraulic clutch is identical in operation to the brakes, work is done at the other end via the pressure of your foot. So you should see a small tube a bit bigger around than a man's thumb. A small vial on top of it and a single line coming off which runs down to the bell housing area. Bell housing is between the transmission and the engine and houses the clutch. Remove the top of the vial, just like on a master cylinder and see if there is fluid in there. Some makers use the brake master cylinder as the reservoir for the clutch also.
