If it is just when starting and blue smoke it will be valve stem oil seals or possible valve guide wear leave ticking over five mins then rev up if it smokes and clears that will confirm it assume you have checked there is not too much oil in engine
First of all what color is the smoke. blueish smoke is oil. white smoke is water or coolant. if the head gasket is blowen you could check your oil with the dip stick. if the oil is way to full the means that there is water in the oil and oil floats on water. the also sell a kit at your local auto store to test your coolant the see if there is exhaust gasses that have entered you coolant. that kit is for when you have a small leak.
