Where is the fuse for the fuel pump. Not the reset button but fuse on a 2001 ford Taurus SES. I found the fuse box under the hood but fuses are not labeled.

There is a fuse for the fuel pump and it should be in the fuse box under the hood. Will need owners manual to know which one ot is or ask a ford dealer for a fuse box diagram
yes your fuel pump can go suddenly w/ no warning. check your fuses in fuse box and fuel pump relay under the hood. look at owners manual to see where electric fuel shut off switch is to make sure that did not trip and needs to be reset. could possibly be plugged fuel filter but likley its the pump.
Fuel Pump Relay is usually located in the engine compartment (under the hood) fuse/relay box. But, if you are having problems starting the car,....there is most likely a fuel shut off reset button in the trunk, on the right side, under the carpeting, on top of the rear wheel well. Look around in there. That's where it was in my 1999 Taurus.
The fuse box diagrams (one inside the car and one under the hood near the battery) are in the owners manual, if you do not have an owners manual you can download one from the Ford Fleet site free of charge by clicking HERE.

The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Has black cover about 10" high X 3" wide. Also, the power distribution box is located under the hood, usually close to the battery.
Usually with heat issues, electrical components are affected. It may be fuel pump relay, found in the relay box under the hood. CHeck also if you have spark when this happens during start. If there is no spark your ignition system may be faulty. Inspect first the hi tension wire for loose connections. A bad distributor means no or intermittent signal will be detected by the computer from it and in turn it will not activate the fuel pump. It could be either one of the said issues or both may be the cause.
try cleaning the connector that goes to the fuel pump, sometimes they corrode on inside. If that does not fix, test the wires feeding fuel pump with a multi meter until the condition shows itself again, if voltage drops to zero or very low then wiring problem, if voltage is unchanged with problem and fuel pump is not working and connectors are all clean, try replacement of fuel pump.
There is a relay in a box under the hood.. There are other relays that are the same kind in that box also. Try swapping one to see if that is the problem. There is another fuse in the fuse box under the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. If none of these work look for the fuel pump circuit breaker it should be located behind the left front panel inside the vehicle by you left foot. you need to press the button to reset it. I hope this helps. Don,t forget to rate my answer.
