I need the manual for the interior. so know what all the buttons and switches do for the 406

The sensor is actually a small black pressure key on the front inside part of the door and it is covered with rubber

The mirror slides up but you will need to apply much pressure or even knock it with hand 2 or 3 times :)

The MAP switch is located on the underside of the inlet manifold on the front. Remove the inlet elbow and you would see it. Mostly it is made by Bosch and is fitted with one small bolt. Buy a Haynes Workshop Manual of 406 (PN 3982) in the long run.

This is because the switch mechanism on the door frame has failed and needs to be replaced. Hence the switch remains on and power will continue to flow to the interior lights until you switch them to full manual mode. The door warning light will also show as open because the warning light is operated off the same switch.

406 FOB / PLIP PROGRAMMING :

The 406 deadlocking remote control has specific button controls, and if the vehicle has two controls, one is set as primary and the other as secondary.

When replacing the Plip, a Primary or Secondary Plip are different part numbers and must be ordered as required. The white label inside the Plip is labelled PRIM or SEC.

1. Turn the Ignition switch ON.

2. Press the large Plip key button (Primary Plip)

3. Within 10 seconds press the large Plip key button (Secondary Plip)

4. If there is one remote, press the Primary plip button twice.

5. Turn ignition OFF.

6. Test Plip's for correct operation.
NOTE : On some 406 models, Plips cannot be re-synchronised unless the battery has been disconnected for 1 minute

hi there all u need to do is hold on reset button just under mileage clock with the ignition off,then switch on ignition to second turn and you will see mileage clock count down from 10 but keep button held in untill countdown finishes and thats it.
