I have a 2004 Audi A4 conv & the factory Symphony stereo (in-dash 6 cd changer) has stopped working. It powers up & displays the radio settings & songs but I get no sound. Is there a separate amp that may have gone bad or has the internal amp gone bad?
Need suggestions on what to do?
Do I need to look for a replacement unit?
Thanks...MIke

Nope - you need the radio removal keys. You should see some small holes or slots near the edge of the faceplate - there are keys that go into them to unlock the radio. A stereo shop will have them - they may even pull the deck for you if you ask nicely. Only takes a few seconds, and it saves you having to buy the keys.

What engine is in your A4. Normaly if the oil is in between the hash marks on the dip stick thats good, If above or below hash marks this is bad. To properly check oil level start vehicle up let it run for 30 sec. Shut vehicle off and let it sit for aprrox 2min then check the level.

I have the same problem. Did you get anyone to help you? I have the same car. A4 1.8T 2005 with the Symphony factory radio.

You will need the code to get it working. You may need Audi for this. Never disconnect the battery, or the alarm with trip on. Since it is frozen, I would try and remove the fuse, and reinstall it to reset the stereo. Then try the code.
I got lucky in my 2001 VW passat, when the stereo code was needed, but then the next day it started working by itself.
