My 2000 Camry XLE has 130,000 miles on it. I was thinking of changing the timing belt because I don't know if the previous owner replaced it or not, I do not want to take the chance. Can you tell me please what should I do now

Timing belt change interval is 75,000 miles.

It's time to change the T-Belt and water pump now.

Water pump is directly behind the timing belt cover.

It's best to get the water pump done at the same time.

How to put a timing belt 2000 ford focus

If it's like mine, the ZETEC engine,I'd wholeheartedly recommend letting Ford do it.They only charge 185 dollars labor and will do it right.
In my shop manual,it takes up FOUR pages of instructions on this job for the ZETEC....................that's too much trouble for me.
I took mine to Ford at 130,000 miles and they did a great job.All parts considered,it cost 413.00 dollars because of the kit and belt and new tensioner for the drive belt. don-ohio

ON THIS CAR WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT NEED TO BE CHANGED ?

your timing belt needs to be replaced every 90,000 miles on the older cars they are to be replaced at every 60,000 miles. but if it was me i would do every 60k just because breaking a timing belt can cost you a motor and for your camery that can cost up to 2000 for a rebuilt motor.

1998 GALANT W/ 130,000 MI. TIME TO CHANGE THE

Should be on your 2nd timing belt. If you have the 4cyl engine there is a balance belt that needs to be changed also. Mitsubishi recomends replacement at every 60,000 miles, your 10k over. Most of the time these motors are not interferance engines, But I have seen a few that broke a belt at high rpm that did bent valves......

1999 Tercel. Timing belt/water pump interval change?

Hello tinaromano1: The factory specification are to replace the belt every 90,000 miles in severe service. I would recommend to replace at 90,000 no matter what the service would be. Keep in mind should the belt break there is always a chance engine damage may occur. Should you need further help just ask. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger
