From what you have done already, the e c m controls witch cylinder, fires, and when,I am afraid to say the e c m,is the problem, injector, and coils, have been changed, would lead me to believe this to be the problem.

ok donald sense it only does this after warm up replace the lifters for that cylinder, make sure you prime them up with oil before installing. The lifters are most likely the problem

replace the electrical wires to the coils ,if this does not fix the problem then start looking at lifter problems

Did you ever figure this out? My Kia is doing this, misfire on cylinder 4 after it is driven for quite a while. New coil packs last year, plugs, wires, did plugs again last week. It runs good cold, so I didn't think it would be the injectors. I replaced the ECM, ran great for a week. Today was real hot, and it started misfiring again. It ran fine to dinner and back, and then I let it rest for 20 minutes and went to drive and ran horrible.

Running rich

Hi Justin
you seems that you have a good idea about engines and injection systems, lets say that the computer see's rich exhaust and pulls back fuel mixture. creating misfire. why the engine is misfiring on one cylinder only??
my advice to you
1 search for a vacuum leak corresponding to the misfiring cylinder, like a manifold gasket or injector seal.
2, do a compression test for all cylinders, probably you have a burnet valve.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Replaced 2 coil packs and still running rough 2003 trailblazer

try replacing or cleaning the injectors
when misfiring moves around it is seldom the coils , plugs and any thing else connected to spark but dirty fuel, low fuel pressure and dirty injectors or injector control
use a quality injector cleaner for a few tankfills

2003 SATURN VUE SERIVE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS BLINKING ON AND OFF RAN THE OBDII READER AND CODE P0304 CYLINDER MISFIRE CAME UP I CHANGE SPARK PLUGS AND BOOTS BUT CAR STILL DRIVES ROUGH SHAKES AND WHEN PARKED...

The P0304 indicates the #4 cylinder is misfiring. The flashing light means the cylinder is not firing at all...It could be several things causeing it, coil, wires, plug, injector or vacuum leak. Do not drive your vehicle until you have this repaired, as it will lead to further more costly problems. Good luck, i hope this helps.

I HAVE A 2005 KIA RIO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TOOK TO THE KIA SERVICE AND THE CODE SAID CYLINDER MISFIRE TOOK IT BACK 3 TIMES AND THEY STILL COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, ENGINE RUNS ROUGH AFTER...

Take it to another shop and have them do a compression check. If the compression is low, you have found the problem. If the compression is the same as the other cylinders, trade the fuel injector at that cylinder with another cylinder and see if the problem moves. If the problem moves (misfire code in different hole), the injector is bad. If the problem didn't move, and the compression is fine, then you have a vacuum leak on the intake runner to that cylinder, possibly the intake gasket. Print this and give it to your new mechanic.

Have misfire, code P0316, any ideals? 86,000 miles on

2004 Marauder and 2003-2004 Mustang vehicles built before 12/19/2004 equipped with 4.6L 4V/5.4 4V engine may exhibit a runs rough, lacks power, and engine misfire, prompted by a MIL light and DTC codes P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308, and P0316.
ACTION
Diagnose engine for engine misfire concern. If diagnostics determine an engine misfire which is characterized by leakage through exhaust valve(s), only replace the affected cylinder head(s).
SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR VEHICLES WITH RUNS ROUGH/MISFIRE CONDITION:
1. Perform relative compression check on all cylinders. If abnormal, check cylinder leakage and actual compression for "low" cylinders refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00.
2. If leakage/compression check indicates a valve train concern, per valve train diagnostics in WSM, Section 303-00, replace cylinder head and cam assembly, pipe plugs and timing chain tensioner, per procedure outlined in WSM, Section 303-01.
3. If cylinder leakage and compression tests are inconclusive, perform misfire diagnostic, per TSB 05-22-8.
