I am installing an after market radio and i need the color code schematic for the factory wires going to the radio i would buy a harness but its $50 plus

would also have to be included ... to even BEGIN to make a STAB... SWAG (impossible).

The cause is extremely simple... Your AFTER MARKET
designer/installer made some power SOURCE & DETINATION ASSUMPTIONS which are probably really close... but...

In electrical engineering... one thing is right
and INFINITY is wrong..!!!

or... maaaybe AUTOZONE... might have your factory schematics...

You need to beg, borrow or buy a volt meter... and your factory drawings... and TRY not to EXPLODE any AIR-BAGS (I'm JUST saying).

The probable solution ... get crutchfield.com on the phone...
match their wiring to your radio... to sleuth it out

buy a harness .. much safer , without cutting factory wires

your best solution is go to a junkyard tell them you need the radio clip for the factory radio splice them back together buy colors go to your local radio shop and get a wire harness so u can hook up a after market radio good luck

dont even worrie about it just go to walmart or an auto parts and get a wiring harness they are not so expensive

There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps

Can purchased an adapter kit at Best Buy or Circuit City that is color cordinated with the factory wires for about 12.00. This will go right into the factory plug.

you can get something called a wiring harness from Walmart (or any place that sells car audio equipment). you plug it into the factory connection that would normally go to the back of the radio, and it has the wires labeled and color coded with what goes where. most times all you would need to do is match up the colors from the harness to the new radio you're trying to install. it makes it really easy to install after market radios, which im assuming you're trying to do.
