It depends on the engine you have. If you do not have a 100,000 mile sparkplug then replace plugs every 40,000 to 50,000 miles. Or at 2 to 3 year intervals whichever comes first.

Other maintenence requires shorter times. Oil changes and filters 3000 to 5000 miles. Air filters about 12,000 miles. If you have a distributor cap and rotor about 30,000 to 40,000 miles depending on wear.
Check antifreeze strength, change antifreeze every 3 years. Always have axles and wheel bearings checked at least every 24,000 miles. Lube door hinges annually, hood release, trunklid hinges, etc.

Show a step by step guide for a tune-up

A tune up consists of replacing the spark plugs and maybe the spark plug wires. Change the air filter too. No need to do timing. It is controlled by the cars computer. Spark plugs should last for about 100,000 miles. Air filters vary on how long they last. Check the air filter at 25,000 miles. Replace it no longer than 50,000 miles. Your car should not need a tune up for a couple more years or so.

WHEN TO GET A TUNE UP FOR MY 2006 FORD FOCUS IT HAS 62000 MILES AND I BOUGHT IT WHEN IT HAD 45000 MILES

a vehicle needs to be serviced regularly to keep it in good operational condition, most modern vehicles don't need a tune up as such but should be serviced by a qualified mechanic at the intervals specified by the manufacturer (every 6,000 or 10,000 miles}.....hope this helps......cheers.

When should do tune up 2007 97000 mile car now gas mileage is going down i drive about 90 mile a day

Modern cars don't really need "tune ups", but spark plugs and ignition systems should be inspected every 30,000 miles, air filters and PVC valves every 12-15,000. Fuel filters every 60,000. All cars vary but if it's been a while since you've had your car serviced, bring it to a good repair shop and have them do a thorough inspection.

How often does my 1991 oldsmobile custom cruiser need a tune up?

DO A TUNE UP AT 30000 MILES. BACK IN 80S AND EARLY 90S YOU DONT HAVE 100000 MILES PLATINUM PLUGS AND 100000 MILES DEX COOL ORANGE ANTI FREEZE. THE GREEN. ETHYLENE GLYCOL ANTI FREEZE HAD TO BE CHANGE EVERY TWO YEARS. SOME OF THE 91 CARS HAD DISTRIBUTOR CAPS AND ROTORS DONT LAST LONG LIKE THE DISTRIBUTORLESS IGNITION SYSTEM. THATS WHY YOU HAD TO DO A COMPLETE TUNE UP AT 30000 MILES.

Does my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee really need a tune-up as preventative maintenace at 39,000miles?

No it does not need a tune up in regards to spark plug wires and ignition related components at 39,000 miles, however air cleaners, and pcv valves should be replaced ever 10 - 15,000 miles. The primary Oxygen Sensor should be replaced at 60 to 80,000 mile intervals and the fuel filter done no later than 100,000 miles, hope this helps.

How often do i need to get a tune up and what parts do i need to buy for the tune up?

once or twice a year is good for an actual tune up which is new fuel filter, plugs, plug wires, & antifreeze.
About every other year, you should replace tranny fluid and filter. Not bad idea to have coolant and tranny flushed every 2-3 years too.
