We have 2002 passat tdi auto...the brake light on the dash has started flashing when we put it in park with a kind of clicking noise. any ideas?
You need to get the brakes and abs serviced as you have worn brake pads and the abs is faulty.
Check brake fluid level under hood. Refill with recommended type if low. If OK, have brake system inspected/repaired.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
This is usually an ABS sensor problem. Two things to deal with it. First, clean the ABS sensors on the brake calipers and if the problem still persists have it replaced. Second, try to remove the positive battery connector of the car and let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. Sometimes the computer needs a reset and removing the positive battery connector can do the trick.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

you will have to have someone scan the abs computer to pull the error codes.. this is the only way to know what ares is at fault
SOURCE: shows ABS fault on dash and ABS light stays on
Check your abs connectors they might have pulled a wire loose

if brakes work ok leave well alone ,this sounds like an electrical fault that big money to repair. At the end of the day the brakes are failsafe manually operated
