I took my car to the dealership and they have 2 options for the fix...
1. Is it worth it to just replace the solenoid itself. For $700
2. Or should I go for the tranny replacement as suggested by the dealership (as they said trans fluid seems to be burned)for $2700.
Any thoughts on this will be very much appreciated.
Thats a gamble. Whats the car worth? Maybe you are better off trading it in? 2700 is a lot of money for a trans on a 8 year old car. You can always go to a trans shop and get a second opinion, which I would do.

How many miles on the car?trans?
High miles =complete trans change.
Low miles= just the solenoid.
Did you check for a low mileage used trans?
All cars run on used parts.
Also a independent trans shop may do the job for less.
I would estimate....change pressure solenoid and fluid/filter change...about $400

I Have A 2004 Mazda 6 With A 2.3L Same Code - The Pressure Control Solenoid Has High Reistance 13.1 ohms Specification Calls For 2.4 ohms. - Now You Can Replace The Solenoid Or The Valve Body Or The Transmission. It Takes M5 ATF. If You Change The Solenoid, It Takes About 6 Hours, So It Would Be Over $700.00 To Fix
