1995 nisan quest stalls

I have a 1995 nissan quest. I can start the car just fine, and if it is hot or cold when I come to a stop the car will start to die. Usually it does die and wont restart unless I jump it. I can avoid that problem by putting car in neutrel and revving engine. Every once and a while after I get home it just wont restart. Whats the problem with it?

Try fuel filter or fuel pump relay. Also check all your fuses especially the fuel pump fuses. And trace your fuel lines to see if any are kinked. I have a 97 pathfinder and mine is doing the same thing

Well the first thing that you must check is see if the battery is charging ,if the alternator is charging the battery enough, with a multimeter,if there is not enough power in the battery ,the starter will be hard to turn the engine for starting, hope that clear your mind and help you

Try changing or switching out the distributor. Most likely getting hot and shuts down. Does it crank but no start whenever it stops? May only start when it cools down again.

I have to chancge my nisan quest timing belt

This is a difficult job and you should probably have a pro do it. Don't mean to discourage, just save you some grief in the long run. If you have a lot of experience and want to try it, this is probably the best site to check out:

The car is stumbling and hesitating While the engine hot is

Take it to a mechanic and have the cooling system checked, could be a bad coolant sensor.

94 nissan quest has started idling at 500 rpm. I

Jeff did you figure this out. I am dealing with the exact same thing currently. Things to look at are Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF), Throttle position Sensor (TPS), Air Idle control valve. I have played with everything but the Air control valve. I tried three different MAF, including a ghost sensor (circuit to match ressitance). I'm going to investigate the air idle control tommorrow. Let me know if this helps or if you get it figured oot

'95 nissan quest stalled at a stop. Will not start, only cranks

I worked on a '93 Quest last year. Couldn't find out why it wouldn't start. It was the distributor shaft not held onto its rotating gear. The roll pin had come out of the gear on the end of the distributor shaft. When the distributor cap was off, the rotor was turning with the shaft while the engine was cranking. So I thought that was okay. But when I put my finger on the rotor and it stopped turning, that is when I found out the problem. It's a stretch, but maybe the techs missed it. Take the cap off, and if you can spin the rotor either way just by hand, the distributor gear has come loose.

Looks like they really covered a lot. I suppose next they will you to replace the ecu. Good luck.

I would like to know the posible causes of engine running hot.

was the engine overheating before this repair? and again do u have bubbles in the coolant tank when the engine is running?, this is best checked when the engine is 1st started. I ask because I think u may have a leaking cylinder head gasket, this would account for the overheating still occurring.

Starting ruff

I'm leaning toward a bad sensor, as in throttle body temperature, or coolant temperature sensor. The smell of too much fuel is probably from pushing pedal to start, which shouldn't be necessary on a fuel injected vehicle. What does it do if you leave your foot off the gas pedal during start? As far as fuel filter goes, if it hasn't been done in a while, I'd do it anyway just as preventative maintemance if nothing else.
