There is absolutely no electrical power in the car when engaging the ignition on a 2001 dodge stratus. It was fine last night, today it is totally dead. Is this just a dead or drained battery?
This car needs tested by an autoelectrican to check voltage/or did you just leave a door open/tailgate this in turn leaves a light on and run the battery flat.adrian;;;;

When you use the ignition key you activate both the starter and ignition circuits. When you jump the starter motor all you do is crank the engine - you have not energized the ignition so car will not start.
Check the fuse for a/c compressor make sure it is completely pushed in slot then check wiring going to the high and low pressure switchs also if you have electric fans on radiator make sure it comes on when you turn on the a/c that would most likely be the cause of intermittent a/c issue also check plug on compressor if it was a lack of freon it wouldn't work at all
Is the battery dead? Your alternator may be bad. If you drove it last night you may have driven on battery power and not realized it. You should have gotten some kind of warning message. Need to know if the battery is dead.
on an 05 more than likely it is the original battery.. first have the battery checked at auto zone or pep boys, they will for it for free, that and don't listen to that person.. your describing a typical bad battery on a newer car... tell he needs to by a new car himself.. they have electric fuel pumps and that is the last sound you hear before your starter engages... the starter takes so much juice to turn over an engine compared to a fuel pump that it just does nothing afterward.
