Which fan are you referring to? The pusher fan in front of the radiator is tied to the AC system. If it continues to run for an extended period after you turn off the key, then there is likely a problem with the relay. I think your model year has the 2 speed fan. Does the fan run at high speed or low speed when you turn off the car? Does it do it if the AC is off?
When does this happen? At idle? Check fan clutch.Water pump while your at it.Electric pusher fan working? Other things are, dirty radiator,clogged........thermostat bad.don-ohio
i have a1994 cutlass ciera S, 3.1 motor, it has 5 relays, from the radiator side to the right fender 1) fuel pump, 2) A/C, 3)blower motor,4) fan#1, 5) fan#2, fan #1&2 refer to the radiator fans,#1 fan is the puller fan (motor side) #2 is the pusher fan,( in front of the radiator) ,hope this helps.
hELLO remove your transmission from your truck and unplug all lines and electric wire from it and you will see your pusher plate removed all bolts on the pusher plate and remove the plate and the clutch disc also remove the flywell from the engine and get it refaced from the brake shop and also install a new clutch bearing at the same time, you will have to center your clutch disc when you will install the clutch the way to do it is you put the disc and the pusher plate togeter you install the bolt on the pusher plate snog by hand but dont tight it at this time put the centering toll trought the hole in pusher plate and the disc and center the disc and tight the bolts on the pusher plate at this time and remove the toll(if you remove the flywell those bolts have a torque on it be sure to torque the bolts at the right torque for it refer to a mecanic for it and reinstal your transmission.
if you are referring to the rear pusher fan for the radiator check the fan relay. that shuts the power off. if that is checked out to be fine check the coolant fan switch
one or the other is at fault
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the air cleaner assembly and intake air duct.
Remove the upper fan shroud from the radiator.
Remove the 4 nuts retaining the cooling fan assembly. Remove the cooling fan from the fan pulley.
Loosen and remove the drive belts.
Remove the upper timing belt covers.
Remove the fan pulley assembly.
Rotate the crankshaft to align the camshaft timing marks with the pointer dots on the back covers. Verify that the pointer on the crankshaft aligns with the mark on the lower timing cover.
NOTE
When the timing marks are aligned, the No. 2 piston is at Top Dead Center (TDC) compression.
WARNING
Align the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with their alignment marks before removing the timing belt. Failure to align the belt and sprocket marks may result in valve damage.
Use tool No. J-8614-01, or a suitable pulley holding tool to remove the crankshaft pulley center bolt. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
If present, disconnect the 2 oil cooler hose bracket bolts on the timing cover. Move the oil cooler hoses and bracket off of the lower timing cover.
Remove the lower timing belt cover.
Remove the pusher assembly (tensioner) from below the belt tensioner pulley. The pusher rod must always face upward to prevent oil leakage. Depress the pusher rod, and insert a wire pin into the hole to keep the pusher rod retracted.
Remove the timing belt.
Inspect the water pump and replace it if there is any doubt about its condition.
Repair any oil or coolant leaks before installing a new timing belt. If the timing belt has been contaminated with oil or coolant, or is damaged, it must be replaced.

To install:
Verify that the sprocket timing marks are still aligned and that the groove and the keyway on the crankshaft timing sprocket align with the mark on the oil pump. The white pointers on the camshaft timing sprockets should align with the dots on the front plate.
Install the timing belt. Use clips to secure the belt onto each sprocket until the installation is complete. Align the dotted marks on the timing belt with the timing mark opposite the groove on the crankshaft sprocket.
NOTE
The arrows on the timing belt must follow the belt-s direction of rotation. The manufacturer-s trademark on the belt-s spine should be readable left-to-right when the belt is installe
