I can't get the wheel hub assembly off the axel I have removed the caliber and everything. It is a kia sedona 2002. Why won't the wheel hub come off I can't see any bolts. I think I am doing something wrong but I can't figure out what.

Sometimes it just takes a little coersion. Try tapping on the back of it with a hammer. They can get a little stubborn at times. Good luck!

You may have overtightened the axle nut or if it's a pressed bearing, it did not go in straight.

How can I remove rear outer bearing?

New style bearings are all pressfit bearings, if your hub came right out of the bearing assembly, it is time for the whole assembly. The hub assembly has a locking ring that holds the outer bearing race inside the hub, after the wheel hub has been pressed out. Then, after the lockring has been removed it can be pressed out and the new bearing can be pressed back in and then the lockring reinserted. Then the wheel hub gets pressed in.

I was going to replace a wheel brake cylinder on my rear axel. I thought I could just pull off the hub to get to the brake assembly but there is a bolted on cap and screwed on plate on the end of the...

Some cars/trucks have the hub mounted with screws/bolts. You will have to remove them to get the hub off. You may need a rubber mallet to beat on the hub a little to get it to come off past the groove the brake pads may have made in the hub. After you get the hub off, take a picture of the brake components so you will know where everything goes once you start removing parts. Once you remove the springs, stuff will shift around and fall out on you so be careful and try to notice where everything goes as it is removed. If you run into problems during reassembly, you can always remove the hub on the other side to get pointers on where everything should go. Good luck.

How do I go about changing the bearings in my front hub?

In order to change them you must do the following.
1) Remove tire
2) decompress the brake caliper
3) unbolt brake caliper and lay it to the side (no need to disconnect brake line
4) remove castle nut from axel
5) unbolt stearing linkage from ball joint (on van door side of hub)
6) unbolt strut from hub (make sure the vehicle is jacked up high enough to allow the hub/wheel assymbly to hang as low as possible.
7) remove CV axel from hub
8) unbolt lower ball joint from hub
9) take hub out
10) remove seal and retainer ring form front and back of hub (retainer ring is on the front side seal is on the back side
11) I highly recommend a press (rent one it is worth it, trust me) and remove the old bearing.
12) insert new bearing and press in (again I recomend renting the press)
13) put everything back the way it came off and your done.
NOTE: I strongly suggest placing the bearing in the freezer for several hours before you start working on the replacement. This lets the metal contract slightly and makes it easier to get it into the hub.
Also you might need a small propain torch to heat the hub up to make it easier to remove the old bearing (especialy if you do not have a press, again RENT THE PRESS)
Good luck.

Can't get the bearing hub out to replace the bearing

You'll need to remove the 2 strut bolts holding the hub to the strut, remove the axle nut. Pull the hub towards you and try taping on the axleshaft to try to push it out. You might try spraying some WD-40 where the axleshaft goes thru the hub.

How do you replace a wheel barring on a 2002 kia sedona

Hi danjameslan,
Replacing the bearing you need a press, the bearing needs to be pressed out of the hub and pressed back in.well to replace the bearing you need a press, the bearing needs to be pressed out of the hub and pressed back in.I just finished doing the front drivers bearing on a 2003 kid sedona. the work to take out the wheel assembly is not hard at all . first take off the tire now remove the brakes and the brake assembly undo the 2 bolts that hold the strut to the wheel assembly do not take them off just take off the nuts and leave the bolts in place now undo the bolt to the steering shaft it is a 10mm bolt that has a cotter pin take that cotter pin out and take the nut off, this bolt needs to be take out off the steering shaft with a ball joint separator ( or a big hammer put a piece of wood on the bolt and hit it with the hammer it should come off) now look under the wheel assembly there is a bolt that runs across it is the swivel part to the assembly take that bolt out there is a 1/8 **** there stick a crow bar and open it mybe a 16th of an inch very little now there are 2 bolts left they are on the a frame under the half shaft the rubber boot is on top of them take the nuts off these bolts , okay now undo the big nut holding the hub assembly to the drive shaft first you need to take the crimp off the nut so it will turn I think its a 33 mm nut take that nut off now the only thing holding it in plce is the bottom swivel take a long bar and have some one stick it between the swivel and the a frame and press down this will loosen the swivel and the assembly should be loose now hold on to the assembly and have someone take out the strut bolts off the assembly is heavy hold it well. now you can take it to a machine shop or you can do it a home with a sledge hammer and a torch.
Hope this helps.
