Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Basically runs great, and can run great for long period, like all day...randomly shuts down while driving (still elec power) and usually comes back up after a several seconds. Rare occasions it backfires (at least once I know it was raining...This is my friends car so I don't know if backfire is always in the rain, but I haven't experienced the backfire and I've been riding in it a lot lately) Sometimes will chug /miss a little.
With what you say,get the fuel filter checked.Cheapest and easiest place to start. Its on the chassis rail, back near the fuel tank.Hope this helps

Testimonial: "I believe this advice was right on. I actually changed the filter right after I wrote this question. The gas from the front line was black."
