Remove the wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Remove the reinforcement on the drivers side over the motor. The wiper motor and transmission is removed as an assembly and then separated.
jack the car as high as you can, then remove the driver side suspension and tie the brake caliper out of the way, remove the coolines and connectors and linkage from top and sides of trans, put a transmission jack (u can rent these) under the pan of the trans and loosen the trans mounts, then jack the trans up and pull it out, this is a bugger of a job with a lift so good luck
There is a pressure sol. in the transmission that is bad . This is a common problem that requires removal of the side transmission cover. The transmission does not need to be rebuilt! Talk to a gm dealer. I have sold over a hundred of these pressure sol. and the side cover gaskets to a real gm transmission mechanic that have fixed this problem. GM parts over 20 years.
Not if one is a 4t60e and the other is a 4t65e, they are not interchangable. The 1995 should be a 4t60e, It has a round plug toward the radiator and also has a vac modulator. The 2000 should be a 4t65e, It has a bigger round plug coming through the top of the side cover, toward drivers fender, and no vac modulator.
