Specifically i dont see a reason why you cannot, the boost in amperage is not great enough to cause a red flag, but i would DEF call BMW and ask to be safe.

That might happen if you replaced your own car battery. The new battery voltage has to be regulated to the cars electronics when putting in a new battery. BMW says there the only ones that can do it and it cost 700 for battery and install. Otherwise the sensitive electronics in the car go bye, bye then its major money to fix.
this can be very difficult to do you must make sure the baterry for the vehicle is disconnected you must remove the casing around the location of the ignition key barrel and there should be a few little pins holding the cylinder in itself with a plug attached be advised though some vehicles with electronic keys may crank over but not run without reprogramming the computer because the car may read the new key set up as someone trying to steal the car just make sure the battery is unhooked this is very important
