Just had my oil light come on after a routine oil change. I have a Jeep Liberty 2002. I checked the oil level, fine and no leaks. Car has 77k and is in fine condition. Any reason it would come on after a change?

1st thing to try is to replace the oil sinding unit, if the problem percets then have someone install a manuel oil pressuer gauge to check the oil pressuer at hot idle if oil pressuer is less then 10 psi at hot idle then replace the oil pump.

Just bought our 2002 Jeep Liberty. The oil pressure light came on shortly after we bought it. Took the Liberty in for an oil change right away- pressure is fine, no leaks. The light is still coming on and...

How do you know the pressure is fine? What is the pressure? Either the engine is bad, or the oil pressure sender is lying, you need to know ASAP.

2002 Jeep Liberty: Battery cable loose wire was

first, though you mentioned no oil leaking, is there oil in the engine?
Next, if engine runs well and is not ticking or tapping, have the codes checked...most larger parts stores do this free. Once you have the stored codes you can look up what system is malfunctioning.
If engine is making any noise at all or there is no oil in it, DO NOT START OR DRIVE IT...make sure whoever did the oil change knows about this now...If someone forgot to put oil in, they may be buying you a new engine!
At this point it may be something simple but can also be very serious.(hope not)
good luck

2005 jeep liberty. got oil change about 2-3wks

recheck the oil on the dip stick. look for any leaks that you were not aware of. make sure your car is on level ground when you check the oil and mwke sure the oil is warm before you also make sure the engine is off this will give you true reading and the oil will settle when is warm

Oil pressure light on and wont start

Well I had the same problem and wow was I surprised man. I have a code machine that plugs into my car and tells me what wrong with it then I fix it. It read that I had a misfire #1 so that means my spark plug is dirty or something like that. When I took off the spark plug it was smashed in that was a good sign.. I called a mechanic friend of mine and he said that my head and piston were damaged but would not really know unless he took it apart. What he said was true and cost me a great deal of money..!!!! Now searching the web I have found that there many jeep liberty with the same problem just different spark plug locations so I wonder if Jeep knows of this issue but will not acknowledge it..
