Lincoln LS Starting/Stalling - Edmunds

Sounds like a bad connection on your ignition switch or wiring in the fuel pump circuit.

Have someone help you turn the key to on position.. not start.. just to on and listen from under the rear of the car for the fuel pump.. but first make sure the fuse and relay are both good before replacing a fuel pump. Good luck.

Are you getting spark to the plugs and normal fuel pressure ?

two things to check, when was the late time you had a tune-up done ??? next, get a fuel pressure tester. hook up to the fuel rail. key on, engine off, pressure could be at least 35 - 45 PSI. get a hanes manual #59010. it will help you troubleshoot. fuel filter is a good place to start. should replace filter every 2 years.

No the motor is the problem.

I had the same problem with my 1995 Mark VIII. the problem turned out to be a combination of plugged fuel filter and the sock filter in the fuel tank. when the car sat for a while the sediment blocking the sock would fall off the sock filter in the tank, but once you start driving it will pick it back up and block the pump from retrieving enough fuel.
