Need to know the tire size...

Ok, so I just bought a 93 Voyager, and I need new tires. Any idea what the size is? I can't read the letters on the side of the tire.

Ok, if it is the base model the tire size from the factory is 205/ 70 r15. Otherwise it is 205/70 r14. Obviously the difference is the rim size which you can get by measuring with a tape measure. Measure the rim diameter and if it is 14 across then it is the second one, if it is 15 across it is the first one. The tire shop can also help with this. FYI, the cheapest place I have found for new tires is Walmart.

When a tire change is done is there a reason the low air warning light goes on?

ok first question did you put the exact same tire size that was on the car factory. If you change the tire size then the pressure for the tire goes up or down to meet that tire spec. your car just reads what the settings are for the stock tires so a change in size will make the sensor think the tire is low. If you put the same size tire back on then the system may jusy need reset.

If i were you i would put the same size studded tire on it as you have on it now.. if you change the tire size it will throw your speed ometer off.. they make them in most every size for all vehicles... i would definately stick with the P215/65R15s. hope this helps

Im buying a chrysler grand voyager but need to perchase alloy wheels but dont know the size of the wheels can you help please.

On the tire there will be a series of letters and numbers that is the tire size, for example P235-15-75. The middle number is the size of your rim. You should be able to get your new rims from this or even if you go in with the whole tire size number they should be able to fix you up. Hope this helps.

What kind of tires does my car use?? I have a scion tc 2005.. and im about to change its 4 tires for the first time.. but i was wondering if they have to be the exact same size.. any ideas?

Your tire size is marked on the sidewall of your tire, it will read something like this, P205/70R15. There may be other numbers or letters but these are the critical ones that the tire shop needs to fit new tires on your car.
You car is set up to run on a specific size tire but changes can be made, for any number of reasons, without too many problems as long as you know what to expect. Changing the P205 number will change tour speedometer about 2 mph per size. Going from P205 to P195 will slow the car down and going up to P215 will speed it up the same. The speedometer will read the same but the car will be moving at the new rate of speed.
Changing the middle number, 70 will make your tire wider or narrower and the numbers work backwards. A 60 tire is wider than a 70 tire. This can affect your gas mileage but one number won't be especially noticeable. If you are buying snow tires for winter then 75 is the best number for that. The tire is thin and cuts through snow to make contact with the road.
Changing the last number 15 requires you to change the rims. That number is the diameter of the rim and there really isn't much reason to change them unless you are customizing your car.
Price comes into play more than brand name. You don't need that $250 super sticky tire for normal every day driving which you can do just as well on a plain jane $125 tire. The sticky tires use softer rubber and wear out quicker.
Finally, do not believe anyone who tells you that all season tires are suitable for snow and ice. They work better than summer tires if you get caught in a freak storm, but they aren't suitable for everyday winter driving. If you live in an area where there is a considerable amount of ice on the roads throughout the winter you should seriously consider getting you tires studded for improved stability, handling and stopping. Hope this helps.

What is the proper tire size for a 2000 caravan

If you want to know the correct tire size for your vehicle. Open the drivers door and look on the edge of the door under the latch. You should find a data plate that will tell you size of tire for your van and proper air pressure for front and back tires.

My boyfriend bought his jetta without a manual, he popped a tire 4 days ago and has been driving around on the donut. I wanna buy him new tires, but don't know what size to get

It is hard to say what size tire you need.First thing we need to know is the size of the rim or wheel you have on the car now.You can get this information from the side of the tire on the car.
The factory size : 15"-wheel
195/65R15 - 205/60R15 16"-wheel
205/55R16 - 215/50R16 17"-wheel
225/45R17 - 235/40R17 18"-wheel
225/40R18

MY TIRES

on the side of the tire you will see a tire size, it should read something like this 175 55 R15 ms or something like that, look at all the tire sides, all or them if they are the same should have the R then a number like 15 or 16 or 17 etc. that is the rim size, look at the first number and the last one, cause the first will tell you the height, a 165, 155,175,etc. all the numbes on all the tires should be the same unless you have preformance tires on it then the front will be smaller then the back tires.... hope this helps you out.....

I need to know the correct tire size for a 1999 mercury cougar v6 please

I do Believe that they are 225/65/15's Do you have the Original Tires now???? If so They have the Size right on the Tire. The Letters and Writing are in Black But, If you take a Piece of Chalk and Highlight the Writing you can read it better. The writting is right on the Side of the Tire.
