2001 porsche 911 convertible top will not close and the rear windows will not close. I followed the Porsche guide to the letter and I still can not close my top. When I engage the rocker switch the convertible top light flashes about 3 times then stays lite and I hear clicking noise in the rear of the car. What does that mean? The front windows will go down when I engage the rocker switch and the rear windows went down. Now the rear windows will not come back up and I can operate the front two windows with no problem.

Hi I have the same problem on my 1999 Carrea, I had the windows at the rear stuck down and the roof latch keeps open and closing, I have not solved this yet it could be a relay but it all started when I was opening and closing on the keypad, if you get the roof up and cant get the rear windows to close get the roof closed to a locking position and where the hood lock pulls back at the roof lock station slide a thin s crew driver up the side of the lock hook they close then, also a tip, if you stick your little finger in the hole where the hood lock goes and press both the rear window buttons up they close when the roof is down. if anyone knows why my hood wont lock please let me know

Porsche cabriolet tops goes down fine top comes up it latches then release and latches and release with no locking and rear windows dont roll up correct ? Well on the car side of the latching mech there is a mico switch that pushes in use a small screwdriver and push it it while the lock is engaged . If it locks then release and that is it . If swith is damaged then the unit needs to be replaced but if this repairs the issue there is a quick fix cut a piece of plastic use some epoxy glue and glue it to the plastic patel that attivate the micro switch

You can actually buy the plastic piece for the hook. No need to tare the mechanism apart. Simply cut two slots a quareter inch each from the eyelets of the piece and slip it into place over the hook.

The cycle has not finished. You may think it has but check your side mirror when you are sat in the drivers seat, and you will see that the **** shell is not quite down flush with the body of the car. That was my problem. Open it again and stop it at the top (service postition) and put O ring grease on both the hook and the latch of the **** shell, They are oribabkly as dry as a vultures crutch piece. Try it again a few time. Wallah.

The **** shell I am referring to is the part of the body above the engine lid.

I have the problem noted above : - the one side of the shell appears as if it has not properly closed. The roof is stuck in the closed position and does not want to open in order for me to grease the hook and latch - ? how do I get it open?

The top opens and closes by using the door key. Hold it left or right to open and close. Release key when the top is in the service position and then you can get to the clam shell hook

The hook at the front has to be covered in plastic cov er. If this is damaged in anyway it needs to be replaxced. You can buy these hook covers. Cut a part out of it and simply clicp it around the hook without having to disconnect the whole latch whicvh could be one P I T A. That hook touches a micro switch inside the wind shield surround. If the plasctic is missing then it wont. It will never finish the cycle and your windows will never come up .

It is stuck in cycle, you must press the sensors, youll find them on the front header of the convertable top or on the top of the windshield where it meets the convertable top, also check on the sides of the frame, sometimes theres switches there that tell the convertable top how far into its cycle it is so to start next phase of closing the top, just press a few of these and run the top, you can press them with tape, unless you have help from another person then just press em with your fingers.

Porsche parking brake light and convertible top

you should be able to get to the ebrake switch by the e brake lever. If you can, to get top up you can cross the two wires going to the switch together and get the top up normally with switch. If this turns the parking brake indicator on on the dash, then order yourself a new switch and replace.
