There is an automatic sensor which slightly opens the power windows when the door is opened, and closes the window when the door is shut. To re set these: Start motor, roll up both windows, and hold the power switches in up position for a full 5 seconds.

Your advice is very close on. Actually I was able to reset the sensors by with engine on, rolling windows down, and then full up and holding the up button for an additional five full seconds. This solved the problem, and will solve similar problems regarding the auto full down at single click, etc.Your advice is very close on. First, make sure the battery is good. If it normally goes dead in 1 night disconnect the battery for 1 night and if the car starts the battery isn't taking itself down. The next thing to look for are things that can be on with the ignition switch off such as glove box light, trunk or hood light, brake light cigarette lighters if it has them, interior lights. For the bulbs you can't see like the trunk light open the trunk then quickly but carefully touch the bulb if it's staying on it will be hot to the touch. Be careful if some bulbs have been on a long time they can burn you. I hope this helps. Take care.
check remote batteries for replacement. they may be dead as for the door locks and trunk. as for the fog light, parking brakes situation a short would make them not work. not stay on. the electrical would be fused for that. a short prevents electric from getting to the load or device. i would not think that fog lights would be linked to parking brakes. did you mean parking brake light? the fog lights should be on a switch by themselves or connected to main headlamps
Hi Your S class has two batteries. The smaller one is located in the engine bay, and the bigger one in the boot (trunk). No need to access any of them, simply open the door with key, insert key to start engine, you will notice that not all ignition lights will come on, but the engine WILL start, and the batteries will be recharged after a short while.
hi sarah,i assume your battery is dead, hence the jump start,if,after charging/replacing the battery, your car windows still wont close reset by using the key in the door lock,(lock car and hold the key over, windows will go up.wait 30 secs then unlock/hold key over, windows will go down, then lock the car again/hold key over until all windows shut then wait 30 secs get in and start the car,you have just reset the system).
geoff.
sounds like the battery in the remote is old and dead and needs to be replaced. ( could also be the electric door lock fuse ).
if you are also experiencing trouble with your door locks themselves turning - then try and spray some teflon or silicone base lubrication in all the locks to wash out any dirt or debris.
