The ASD is what powers the fuel pump relay you need to check the engine fuse box junction for open fuse especially the fuel pump fuse and the ignition fuse. Get the ASD power corrected and the fuel pump injectors coil and reference will be back in action,check the fuse especially fuse No.23
make sure the pully belt is tight then take it to where you bought the alternator and have them check it for voltage output. It should be about 13 volts
change the pcm relay or fuse. this relay supply 12 volt to fuel pump and ignition coil. go to the dealer and ask for the diagram for pcm relay and read it carefully or ask a friend to help you. check the fuse that supply 12v to the relay. mechanic shop will charge you for big price for electrical problem. most pcm relay is near the car computer at passenger side.
common problem on VAG fusebox above the battery - replace the cable from the alternator and the fuse box itself, should solve the problem. to check, put an voltmeter across the battery when engine running. should be approx 14.volts. then try across the alternator. if more than 1 volt difference, then you have a bad connection and that causes the cable to overheat. alternative scenario that alternator is overcharging, but than a voltmeter will also show that
that aint ALL THAT BAD A BATTER SHOULD BE CHARGING AROUND 14.5 TO 15 VOLTS when car is running.. if you think u are having a prob try voltage with every thing on....shouldnt drop more then 13 volts
You likely already checked this but how about a broken timing belt. If the cams aren't turning the cam sensor isn't working and the pcm won't fire the plugs.
this is something best left to a qualified repair shop ,Dealer ! This starting system is computer controlled an if you don't know anything about it you could make thing's a lot worst . When you turn the key to the start position , this sends a voltage signal to the PCM through the crank fuse #17 amp located in the under hood fuse / relay box. You could check for B+ volt at this fuse with a volt meter or test light . When the PCM see's this voltage signal it looks for another signal from the PNP - park neutral position switch . If it see's this signal an thier is no anti-theft system problems it will energize the starter relay sending B+ voltage to the starter solenoid .
