I have a 2003 pontiac grand prix and the car alarm goes off after I get out the car even after driving serveral miles. I have to turn it off with my remote. I have the factory alarm and this is the first time it started doing this. Do I need to change the batteries in my keyless remote?

Chances are it is an electric contact inside of one of the door latches not making good contact. The BCM is getting a signal that one of the doors is being opened and thinks the car is being stolen. Usually ends up being the drivers door as it is used more than the others.

SOURCE: programming new keyless entry remote

Yes...

1) Remove the "MALL PGM" fuse located in the glove compartment (see owners manul for location)

2) Turn ignition switch to "Accessory" then "Off" then back to "Accessory" witin 1 second. (accessory is opposite the forward direction key is normally turned for starting the vehicle)

3) Plug in drivers side seat belt.

4) Open and close a door (will hear a chime indicating in program mode.)

5) Press and hold both the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the Fob and wait at least 7 seconds (may take longer) you'll hear a chirp or the horn will sound.

6) repeat step 5 for all other Fobs.

7) turn key to Off and replace fuse.

SOURCE: The battery died in my keyless entry remote for my

You may have to go to the dealership and get the Service Bulletin on this one. Sometimes the owner's manual is NOT correct. You may see what the Dealership charges to reprogram BUT... I'd bet it is at least $75. This is USUALLY a simple task. Maybe try it again a couple of times before you head to the Dealership. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again". I've had to do this 4-5 times before it would reprogram on similar cars.... DOUBLE CHECK the battery in the remote for voltage. You might want to replace it anyway. That way you won't have to go thru this when the battery in the remote dies... In a 6 year old car, it's about at the end of its life cycle.

SOURCE: The keyless entry and remote start will not work

Take it apart and see if the clip that holds the battery in place is broken, sometimes soldering it will fix it but not 100% of the time, so you mite need to get it replaced.
