SOURCE: E.E.C fuse keeps blowing in 1991 Ford Explorer

if you replaced fuel pump i would look at backward wiring when replaced and i would start at the source of work if your vehicle was working fine before replacement then 9 out of 10 it will be your fuel pump wireing

sometimes when putting wireing back together the connectors have the missing clip and in turn you can turn the wireing in both directions now where positive is touching the ground on both sides of connector kris kross problem check your work this is crucial use a test light to find the right wires where they go

Fuel pump relay

In the fuse box, (under the hood), lower right corner. C1051....if you think its bad, there are others like it in the fuse box you can swap with. If the fuel pump doesnt work, be sure to check the INERTIA SWITCH. I cant tell you how many fuel pumps are replaced because no one checked that switch. If the Inertia Switch is good, have someone rap on the bottom of the fuel tank while you are cranking the engine over, if it starts then, the fuel pump is bad.

What is the fuel pump relay number in the fuse box of a 2001 explorer sport? is there another relay in there i can switch to see if the pump relay is bad?

you can find the location of this relay from the owners manual, if you don't have one you can download one from fleet.ford.com, or try your local library. The A/C relay, horn, and Fuel pump relays are all the same. Hope this helps, let me know

The fuel pump relay is in the fuse box under the hood on the left side (drivers side). The cover of the fuse box has a diagram of location of each fuse/relay.
