Ok I have a 85 volvo 244 dl 2,3 is there a sensor that has anything to do with my alternator charging my battery. my battery does get charged but is not fully charged at all times , my belts are rock tight i have to wait untill the alternator goes into the charge mode befor I can shut the car down / If I wait till it goes into this charge mode , when I shut the car off itwill start immediately. If I do not wait and it is not in the charge mode and I shut it off it will not start. is there a sensor that tells the ecu to charge at certain times because it does not stay in a continuous charge mode /thanks paul
THERE IS A SENSE CABLE CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR, UNPLUG THIS CABLE AT THE CONNECTOR THEN START CAR, IF THIS DOES NOT HELP , IF THE CHARGE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WITH THE IGNITION , BUT IS SLOW TO GO OUT WHEN THE ENGINE IS STARTED , THIS MAY INDICATE AN IMPENDING ALTERNATOR PROBLEM IF SO REFER TO AN AUTO/ ELECCTRICAL SPECIALIST.
