Sounds like a failing pump in the transmission or a torque converter problem. Check for any error codes (DTCs) using a code checker to see what is setting the warning. Next stop is probably a transmission shop.
This trans you will ether have to get it repaired or replaced you can try changeling the trans filter and fluid and I would add a can off sea foam for trans too it
It shouldn't, but be VERY CAREFUL when you drive afterwards. Transmission fluid sometimes creates a varnish like coating over the entire transmission. As the new fluid has a high level of cleaning properties this sludge can stop your new filter up. Only drive it for a short distance and see if it acts like it's not getting oil. Make sure it shifts properly and pulls normally. Any sign of abnormal operation is a sign it is stopping up. If this occurs stop the car immediately and change the filter again. I have seen the filter have to be changed three times. If were mine, with the burnt fluid look I would buy two filters and run it about five or ten times and let it set, then just put a new filter on it for the heck of it. I know changing the filter is a lot of trouble but so is changing a transmissionFrom experience,Gillight
