Which fuse will disable the SRS system on my 2003 Tahoe Z71? I don't see one labeled SRS or SDM? I have SEO ACCY, TBC, DDM, and ECC fuses, but I don't believe any of these is correct. I need to disable the SRS system in order to replace the multi function switch on the steering column. thanks,Jon

Disconnect the battery and be very careful. The SRS system retains a lot of energy, and you should give the system time to completely power down before working on it.

SOURCE: I have A 2000 Chevy 3500 Express Van and the brake

Hi,

When you said that you checked the brake switch, did you check it live? Meaning verified live power to the switch, press switch, and then power came out the other terminal?

If so, also verify zero power on brake press, at the offending brake light bulb terminal. You must verify the test light each time you move it...leave running lights on...

After verifying that there is no power coming, after the brake is pressed, note the wire color and find it where it comes to the steering column and test there... This would eliminate wires and connections between front and the rear of the vehicle, unlikely, but needs to be tested.

After verifying no power at that terminal, then yes the t/s switch is certainly suspece. This may be the time to get a mechanic to verify and replace the switch, there are locks, tilt mechanisms, air bags, column bearings, etc involved. Failures risk loss of vehicle control (locking or binding for example.)..

Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

Testimonial: "Thank You. I tried those things and it seemed to be the Emergency Flasher switch in the multi function switch."

definitely disconnect battery first. invest in or rent a wheel puller and a ring lock compressor the other tools are pretty standard. mark steering wheel and post so it will go back in the same clocking position. there is usually a reference line on there from the factory.

Does IPC panel have a relay on 2004 Chevy Silverado

Diagram shows 4 fused power feeds to the IPC; IPC/DIC and SEOB1 hot at all times... IGN E, SEO IGN hot when start and run. I find no relays on the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster).

Revised 1/29/24
I suspect there are semantics causing confusion regarding fuse and relay blocks.

There are three fuse/relay locations. Underhood (engine compartment), Instrument Panel (left dash) and Center Instrument Panel (behind left kick panel).

Do not confuse Instrument Panel Cluster (dash gauges and DIC) with Center Instrument Panel fuse block.

2003 GMC yukon SLE Driver side WIndow switches how do i replace them?

How do you know they need to be replaced ? The switches incorporate a electronic module . Driver door module .
Power Window System Components
The power window system consists of the following components:
• Driver Door Module (DDM)
• Passenger Door Module (PDM)
• Body Control Module (BCM)
• RR power window switch
• Window up and window down relays in each of the rear passenger window switches
• Window lockout switch
• Reversible power window motors in each of the doors (circuit breaker protected)
• LT DOOR CB 25A (System power for left windows)
• RT DOOR CB 25A (System power for right windows)

Power Window System Controls
The power window system will operate anytime the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) system is active or when the ignition switch is in the ACCY or ON position.
The DDM contains four power window switches which are integral components. Closing any of the normally open, rocker type switches provides the DDM with a request for power window operation. The switches for the two front windows have three positions UP, Down and Express Down, while the switches for the rear windows have only two positions, UP and Down. Each of these switches and their positions is a direct input into the DDM. Upon receiving a request for power window operation, the DDM, transmits a Class 2 message indicating the switch and it's changed position.
The PDM contains a single power window switch that is an integral component. Closing of this normally open, rocker switch provides the PDM with a request for the front passenger power window operation. The switch for the front passenger window has two positions Up and Down. Each of these switch positions is a direct input to the PDM.
The two rear passenger doors have there own switches. Each of the switches contain a power window up and down relay. A switch activation alone can control the up and down functions of the rear windows. However the BCM, upon receiving a Class 2 message from the DDM, can control the set of relays which will activate the rear window motors.

The door locks operate the same way .
